For example solar cells may gather energy from the sun and may do little to produce side effects, but they still take energy to produce and energy to store. On the spiritual plane, this is sacrifice. For every wonderful spiritual or artistic achievement sacrifice of some sort is needed. It may be sweat it may be money but some sacrifice is needed.
